Mrs. Kim Parsons
Director

Mrs. Kim Parsons has worked at Arlington Baptist School for three years in the areas of Physical Education, Computer, Pre-school, and Health. She graduated from Pensacola Christian College in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Bible, majoring in Youth Ministries and minoring in Physical Education. She also is trained and certified by the state of Maryland to administer medication. This is her third year working with the Summer Blast program and her second year directing the program.


Mrs. Hazel-Ann Jerome
Assistant Director and Academic Review Instruction

Mrs. Hazel Jerome has worked in the Arlington Summer Blast program for over five years as a head counselor and served as the Assistant Director for the summer of 2009. Hazel has served as the first grade teacher at Arlington Baptist School for the last 7 years.


Miss Joy Martin
Kiddie Blast Coordinator and Music Instruction

Ms. Joy Martin currently teaches K3 at Arlington Baptist School and assists in after-school tutoring.  She has taught private music lessons for six years in addition to teaching for two years at The Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts.  Ms. Martin also freelances in the Baltimore area and has performed with groups such as the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Baltimore Brass Quintet. She graduated in 2008 from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts.


Mr. Johnnie Whitehead
Communications and Drama  Instruction
Mr. Johnnie Whitehead has worked as Arlington Baptist School's K4 teacher for the past three years. In addition to graduating from the Baltimore School of the Bible (where he focused in Bible teaching), he is a graduate of the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Washington, DC (where he majored in Theatre). He has also attended acting classes at Georgetown University and The Acting studio in NYC. Upon graduating from the National Conservatory, he relocated to NYC in 1990 where his 12-year acting career was both fruitful and trying. He has worked extensively on stage, television, and film. This will be his third year with the Summer Blast program, but the first year that he hopes to inspire others by teaching acting as a form of self-expression and creativity.
